posting bikes?
has anyone used royal mail standard parcels to post a bike?
it seems to cost around £15 including some insurance, but small print states that "*Combined length and girth of your item must not exceed 3m"
would a cardboard bike box exceed this do you think??
thanks alex

Not if you make your own using four fruit boxes attached together with duct tape and a few strategically placed zip ties - the beauty of that is you can fit them exactly around the bike rather than simply having a too-large rectangle. You can attach the bike to the box so it does not move around inside, by making small holes in the cardboard and threading zip ties through and around the bubble wrapped bike.0

Get a bike carton from your LBS - they usually have to pay for their waste disposal so happy for you to take it away. Some bike boxes are smaller than others - to meet the 3m rule you'll have to remove the wheels.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0
