Even though I'm a Liverpool fan I think I'll miss him

Undefeated in 60 league matches at home for Chelsea and I think 97-98 when you add his Porto record prior to his departure from there.

With a bit of luck they'll tempt Kevin Keegan or Graeme Souness out of retirement to replace him0

Where are we going to get our utterly fascile football observations from now that he's gone?
What do I ride? Now that's an Enigma!0 -
So the smart money is on Barca or Tottenham for Jose... I know which one I would choose!0

I've been going to Chelsea for years, they were in the 2nd division when I first started. My mother was brought up in a pub just round the corner from Stamford Bridge (the Gunters Arms, long since gone) As a "real" fan I believe that the man is a genius and great for British football. So we now have some bloke who was brought in to undermine Jose and who's hardly coached anyone. How much success can we expect from him? Bugger all I reckon. Still he speaks Russian and is a mate of Roman's so that's all right then   :evil:Beer, the reason my ambitions have not become my achievements0

I would be interested to know from a real Chelsea fan. Who would you rather had gone; Abramovich or Mourinho? A devil and the deep blue sea type conundrum.
At the end of the day, I just don't think he was quite as good as he thought he was. He seemed to be found lacking when coming up against the best managers/ teams. Chelsea definitely have fine players that could perhaps cover up some of the managers frailties.
Having said all that, he certainly gave English football a bloody good kick up the arse and I for one (who hates him and loves him in equal measure) will miss his press conferences. I read a quote in the paper saying that he is the only manager who the whole pub shuts up for when he is on the TV.

Who would rather have gone? That IS a difficult one. If Abramovich went who else could afford to pay the salaries? I think that theyare still losing millions each year and are at aleast a couple years away from breaking even
I think that Jose was able to turns things around during half time if things were not going too well. He did that on number of occasions but he has been undermined recently and given his shy retiring nature he probably found that too much to take. I hope he stays in English football. The comment about whole pubs shutting up when he speaks is spot on, even if it's onle to hear the comments he makes.Beer, the reason my ambitions have not become my achievements0 -
Someone at the Yorkshire Evening Post was certainly "on the ball" (no pun intended) with regard to recent events at Stamford Bridge; Thursday's edition - which has all the "situations vacant" ads in it - had a banner at the top of the front page along the lines of "Looking For A New Job?", next to which was a picture of a certain ex-manager of Chelsea FC

Interesting article in the Observer today. I guess its all over the news but sounds like his job was made impossible. Shame really as although sometimes he could be infuriating I think he brought something to the game in Britain. There is talk he might take on the England job which would be pretty good. Wonder if Terry would still be captain then!?0

Didn't they do the same to Ranieri.
I wouldn't wish Souness on anyone.0 -
All of this over reaction to his departure is embarrassing. It's like someone has died.
He was there 3 seasons for goodness sake. Think about how much Wenger and Ferguson have achieved and how long they have been in post.0 -
2-0 to the champions, 2-0 to the champions, 2-0!!!
come on unitedIt is a rough road that leads to the heights of greatness0 -

Well yeh, and when they leave there'll be alot of fuss too. Mourinho took Chelsea a long way and was a colourful character at a club with buckets of cash who's time in the job has been cut short, thats why there's been alot of column inches. Its a big story.0 -

Ha bloody ha :x . How much did it cost to buy the ref? That red card was a joke and Fergie wanted Cole send off as well  :x  :evil:Beer, the reason my ambitions have not become my achievements0 -
How good was he?
He won The Champions League with unfancied and unseeded Porto on a shoestring budget.
Yet he couldnt do the same after spending £200m at Chelsea!
Maybe he got lucky with Porto?
I honestly expect he'l be in charge of Man Utd within 5years.0 -
Well, as a life-long gooner, top of the league, richest club in the country (by good management and honest business, not gangster investment (yet!!!!)) AND a Scotland fan, top of the league, home and away victories over the World Cup runners up (achieved without any expensive big name players, for obvious reasons), I still think Mourino was the best fun opponent since Brian Clough and it's a shame to see him replaced by such an expressionless, frankly terrified-looking depressive (and I don't mean Ferguson when I say that).
At least the special one's now got time to go for some undisturbed day rides. And he's got 25 million quid to spend down at his local bike shop. Has to buy a "special"ized really, doesn't he? Perhaps an S-works with titanium everything.
If you had that kind of budget and all the time in the world, what would you ride and where would you go?
I'm thinking a South American end to end with a support vehicle carrying a range of bikes for every terrain (including one of those Moultons made of bits of exhibition stand).0 -
Jose Mourinho has issued an appeal to be left alone saying "I want to go back to Portugal and not be seen again".

Jose was a victim of "Mad Chairman Disease", a particular affliction which seems to effect rich egomaniacs who buy football clubs and suddenly think they actually understand the game.0
