Are Time ATAC allium/cyclo user serviceable?

...I can get the dust cap off and the nylock nut, but no further!

Anyone managed to get to the axle in one of these pedals and can reveal the secret?!

  • I have the old shape ones which I imagine are very similar internaly.

    The inboard bearing is a bush and the outboard one, just behind the nut, is a small cartridge bearing. With the nut removed the pedal body should come off complete with bush and bearing. Give it a sharp tap with a soft hammer and it should come free.

    All you can do maintenance wise is grease/oil the bush and if necessary replace the bearing. I always use a liberal squirt of thick oil as this will work its way into the small bearing as well as lubricating the bush. I havent had one fail yet.
