I phoned my local police station today, and they dont do those tracking things for the bike.

Does anybody know were to get them and how much they are and are they worth it.

I have a great lock and bike is kept indoors at all times, this is just in case some clown gaffles me in the hood, no wat im sayin?

Police are sending me stickers for bike to say bike is being tracked, but thats it

Thanks guys

    your LBS should do them.

Hey have looked around and all i can see is a tag that the police would have to scan on the bike.

has anybody heard of an actual tracker, were if the bike gets stolen they can turn on a tracking device and locate bike?

    Thanks
  • You can't get the trackers that actually allow the GPS tracking, they need a power source to operate.

The tracker chips (which work the same way as a dog chip) are available from some LBS, some motorbike shops, or online at Evans.

They are I believe made by a company called datatag.

There is a form inside the package that must be filled in with your details and sent off to the firm. This ties the chip number to a person's details.

This ensures your details come up on the database when the chip is scanned, because all it reads on a scan is the serial number.
