My firm is going to run this in January and the wife has also given permission.
I have all the kit so just want to max out on the bike.
My commute is a 32 mile round trip which I do on a converted Specialized Hardrock on wet days and a now rather worn out Ridgeback day 2 on dry days.
I would like to try something fast and comfortable with drops.
What is the best bike for a grand?

Trek 5000. Normally 1300 but you can get for a grand from Wheelbase & Evans.
