SPD reflector nonsense

Hi,

I bought a pair of SPD pedals and they've come with these ridiculous plastic platform reflectors that seem to be clipped in to the pedals.
Is there an easy way to get them off or do you have to break them off?

Comments

  • Loosen off the tension in the pedal all the way

Get a smallish screwdriver and insert it into the hole between the reflector and the pedal 'jaws' at the back end of the pedal (ie the side pointing towards the rear of the bike)

Push the pedal jaw open (towards the rear) and the 2 little plastic tabs of the reflector should come free.
  • Believe it or not, the UK Highway Code requires you to have reflectors on your pedals when cycling on roads in the dark.

Don't know the answer to your question though.

fit to bike. then just release as if your foot.

put somewhere safe for when you wish to use bike without spd shoes.

    or E bay them.
