ive got some rubbish square tapered bb that im trying to take out. the non drive side came out a doddle, but the drive side is just slipping. ive compared it to the collar, and there doesnt seem to be much for the teeth to grip onto which is why the tool is jsut slipping? ive tried everything i can think of (wd-40, hammering the tool in etc) but i jsut get the same result. any ideas how i can get this bastard out? i dont have a decent bike shop anywhere near me really so it isnt really a viable option. cheers guys!

turning it the correct way? read parktools for how to.

use a qr lever to clamp it in place.

well you need more pressure on the tool. also put the other side back in finger tight.

  • I had a nightmare changing a BB recently until I went and bought the biggest adjustable spanner available at homebase (opens to 40mm, £10.99) and it came out 1st attempt. What tool are you using to try and remove it?
