Hi, after a bit of advice..

I am currently running these tyres front and rear, on my spesh stumpy fsr XC, with fox talas.. I have spent ages trying to dial in the forks to reduce understeer, but in the current conditions, I just can't get rid of it. I assume that it is down to it's rounded profile and lack of side lugs..

Can anyone reccomend me a grippy front tyre for cutting some fast singletrack without washing out ?

cheers !

The Michelins are super sticky but the side knobs tear off incredible easily. Not worth the cash IMO. Look at a set of Maxxis High Roller XC 2.1s.
    S-works Stumpjumper FSR

I'll see you at the end.

You'll see me on the floor.

Panaracer Fire XC Pros, Panaracer Cinders, Nobby NICs all 3 are excellent XC all condition tyres.

I'll 2nd that choice. The tyre has quite a square profile but I prefere that over rounded profiles.

    Kenda blue groove.
I run the blue groove front and a nevegal rear (both 2.1) on my on-one 456. Best tyres I've used so far. I hated the FireXC pro's, just didn't find them confidence inspiring at all.

Maxxis High Roller 2.1 - seem to do the job well.
  • I've had Panaracer Fire XC's and look forward to trying Maxxis High Roller 2.1s for my winter tyres. Yes Fire XCs are good, but whether they're as great as people make out I'm not sure.
