About a year ago I installed a Connex link to a 10spd campy chain, and it installed really easily. Last night I tried installing a KMC missing link to (admittedly used) 10 spd Campy chain, but could not get the two sides of the link to pull into place properly. Looking at the packet I see the Missing Link is a 5.9mm link, whereas the Connex link is 6.2mm pin length, might this explain how the Connex link installed more easily. Both product were clearly branded for 10spd Campy chains. Is there a special took for installing the Missing Link?

I have just been offerred a 6.1mm pin length connector, can anyone think why this would not work on a Campy 10spd chain?

The first Campagnolo 10 speed chains were 6.25mm, before the Ultra-narrow 6.0mm and 5.9mm models came out. As you have found, the KMC will only work with ultra-narrow chains,
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

Is there an easy way of telling what width chain one has?
