First of all, I'm new to posting here, so 'Hi' to all!

Now down to business...

I am a beginner on a VERY tight budget, and I want to upgrade my forks. CRC have a few for under £50. But the ones that jump out are the Suntour XCP 75 120mm.. simply because of the travel distance. What are peoples thoughts on these? The others that caught my eye are Rockshox Judy's. Any input much appreciated!

Fuzzyboy.

  • I have a 2005 Carerra Kraken which has the bottom of the range Suntours (XC 60 I think).

I don't have any pics I'm afraid. I have recently overhauled the drivetrain and I am about to order some new wheels (handbuilt Merlin jobbies).

Ok just about any fork will be better than the current one as it has no damping.

the XCP will be better and depending on the Judy it could be better but..... which.

  • Thanks for your input on this nicklouse.

Just looked at CRC again and here's the choices:

    Suntour XCP 75 (120mm)

    Rock Shox Judy J1 2005

Rock Shox Dart 2 2007 (Just noticed this!)

    Cheers!

J1 as good (bad) as your current fork. Dart 2 does have rebound damping at if at 80mm will suite the frame well

the XCP might be just too long at 120mm your old forks were 75mm.
