I have to true my rear wheel every 50 miles?

What's going on? I'm going to just loosen every spoke and start from scratch, is ths a good idea?

  • Not worth bothering trueing if it's constantly loosening up. Strip all the spokes out and take the hub & rim to another wheel builder. If you don't know any, just try another shop. You may come across a good builder sometime!

    I had a bike that came with Centaur hubs and Open Pro's. I had exactly the same problem.

    I eventually took them to Websters in Leicester. The guy there said he had never seen such rubbish spokes and rebuilt them for me. Hardly a problem since he put quality Sapin spokes in.

    I had a similar type of issue, and it turned out to be a minute split in the rim by one of the nipple holes.

    Worth taking a very close look at the rim...
