Should a Rockshox fork move at all when locked?

Hi,
Quick question as per the title really. I have a Reba SL and when in locked position, there is still some travel - is this normal? The manual implies this is correct but just wanted to double check! I have also set the floodgate to maximum setting.
Just wondered if there is any way to fully lock the forks when doing on-road riding?
Thanks

Yeah, there's always a small amount of movement, because of the way the lockout works.
No, there's no way to make the forks completely rigid, but it's not usually much of a problem except on the kind of hills that get you out of the saddle and over the bars...0 -

Lockout systems always have a blow off valve fitted, just in case you hit a large bump when locked out.
Otherwise the force of the bump would simply destroy the fork internals.Cycle tracks will abound in Utopia. ~H.G. Wells

TBH that little bit of travel (<20mm) is really useful, makes the ride more supple when locked out without any bobbing up and down. You should find they are fine even on roads.
Certainly all modern RS forks have a blowoff feature, in the case of your Reba's this called the floodgate and it can be adjusted for your weight at the top of the right leg (small allen key in the middle). See the manual. However I'm sure some cheap forks (esp those with mechanical lockouts) don't have this feature and will turn to scrap if you bash them hard while locked.

I have a question, once the blow off feature has,,,,,,,,shall we say, been activated........ do the forks go back to the locked position automatically.0

With most forks, yes.0
