chopping bars/post?

Hello, I want to chop the bars on my DMR drone, they seem HUGE. Would a standard auction site pipe cutter manage? What diam pipe cutter would I need? Would chopping half the seat post off be worthwhile to save weight?
Off topic: I've noticed other people mentioning auction site, am I not aloud to say the actual site name?
Thanks

a guide and a hacksaw does the job. some pipe cutters will work just make sure they are sore the correct material."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Cool, copper cutters work?
What about the seat post? Has anyone else done this?0 -
no copper is soft.
get the correct tool for the material."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

I bought a Rothenberger adjustable pipe cutter from a plumbing supplies shop for about £10. It was for steel pipe and cut my alloy steerer no problem. In fact it's cut another 3 steerers since on the same blade with no problems. So much less effort than a hacksaw
You will be good to use it on your seat post too as they leave minimal burr. I always chop my seat post down, but that's cos I run my seat pretty much slammed and never raise it back up (I'm no XC'er!). You'll have to think about that before cutting it. Will you ever want it back up?
As for sizing, check the diameter on you seat post and then get one just a few mm larger, you will still be able to use it on your bars.
Also, the ones on eBay will be fine, just make sure you get the right size and blade (as above, not copper).Current:
