Hi,
I put this query in buying advice - but it got little comment and I am really keen to know.
Can I put a 140mm 'all mountain' fork on a hardtail which currently has a 100mm XC fork - or will it mess up the geometry?
cheers

What hardtail?0

Its a GT Aggressor - same as an Avalanche - currently has a Dart 2 fork which is as heavy and useful as having two bricks between the bars and the wheel...0

140 too much for this. They can handle upto 130, but then it is quite slack - a travel adjust fork will be your best bet like a Tora or Recon Uturn.0

Thanks for that - though obviously not the answer I wanted I'd rather know now than when I bought the fork!
I shall keep looking

ive got an aggressor, and have just fitted a 100mm travel RS Tora 302, and am really impressed with it. i considered a 302 u-turn, but i figured that the 100mm travel is fine, and didnt want to gamble with the geometry. plus the 25% saving sweetened the deal!
