Hi All

Park and their tools always seem to be well regarded - anyone know anything about or have any experience of their pump as seen here. Just seen it in local CycleSurgery and it feels pretty solid etc. Seems like a good deal if as good as the rest of their stuff and I need a new pump (bent current one last nightbut no surprise as it was a bit ropey).

Any thoughts appreciated.

Cheers

  • I've got one and it works well, but there is one big drawback-the head tends to hold on to the valve when you try to disengage after inflation (you do this by releasing the clamp). I've found you need to pull a fair bit to get it off and I have punctured a few tubes in the process. My solution is to use only tubes with smooth valves -any with circumferential rings on them are a bugger to get off. So when it comes to replacing my track pump I'll be looking for a different make.

I use a Joe Blow Sport, for the money i think it's very good.

I've had a Park Tools pump for nearly 4 years - no problems. It does fit slightly tight on the valve but I've never had a tube puncture. Possibly kildare got unlucky?

It's a tire pump, not a rocketship. It puts air in your tires. How bad of a job could it do?

Dennis, quite a bad one by the sound of it. What's the point of the forum if not to ask for the opinions of others on equipment etc among other things?
