Does anyone have a Met Stradivarius 199?

Yes, very pleased with it. Have used MET for the last 10 years, various models

But, as some have already said, choice should be made by each individual trying on various models and seeing what is comfortable for them. Every one has different shaped heads, so personal recommendation for one may not suit another

I ride/race motorbikes too, and the same model from any given manufacturer ranges is not only available in different sizes, with various levels of extra adjustment from the internal padding, but you will also find that they manufactuer different shell shapes in different markets, ie. Euro head shape on average is different from stateside shape, and different again for Asian markets, eg. egg shaped, tall/thin, rounded etc.

Buy only what works for you, but of course having also taken into account the standards ratings. Having wrecked 2 motorbike crash helmets, both times being knocked unconscious but with nothing more serious afterwards than concussion, I realise perhaps more than most that you only get one chance to be sure you've made a wise choice

+1 for the Bell Sweep R. Excellent helmet, light, cool and comfy.
  • Guys...

So much of this comes down to fit. I ordered a Giro Ionos this week in Large while Wiggle were running their 20% December offer. I chose large after discussion on forums about Ionos sizing. I have a Giro E2 in medium which is a tight but bearable fit, and I've tried Atmos' in medium also which are too narrow and hurt my head.

In my opinion the Ionos is too large for me, which is a shame. The roc-loc adjusters are close to max at the back and the straps are also close to max adjustment. It also looks too big for my head (mushroom syndrome).

There are no dealers here that have the Ionos. So I was left with Met and Specialized. I have opted for the Specialized D2 as a medium fits well. Yes it may look strange but it's a super light helmet and fits well.

My number 1 choice would have been either a Giro Atmos or Ionos, but Giro sizing simply doesn't work for my head.

So please, try some helmets on first to see what works for you! As for my Ionos, that will be going back to Wiggle
