Im new to mountain biking and have been looking for a starter bike for comuting during the week and to take off road at the weekend in Wales.

After looking for a while and with my budget, ive finally decided on a GT Avalanche 2.0.

Looking on GT's site the bike seems to come in 3 colours, Dark Blue, White and Black.

However every shop ive been only has the white model, ive been told that GT may have made a mistake on their site and that the Dark Blue model is the us version of the bike.

I have tried to contact GT by email and hotwheels the uk importer via email and neither have replied to me. What i want to know is if it is possiable to get the dark blue version in the uk, as this is the one i have my heart set on now.

The '07 model has disc brakes, don't know about the '08
Night riding is the way to go....
  • Hotwheels emailed me back, unfortunatly the Avalanche 2.0 only comes in white in the uk.

Bummer, i really liked the blue one.

In regards to disc brakes, there are 2 models - one with disc brakes and one with v brakes.

Looks like a white one with disc brakes for me then
  • I've just bought this bike with discs, but I asked to see it beforehand as I was unsure about the colour....after seeing it in the flesh it is very 8) I pick it up Sunday, can't wait!

who wants to be part of the norm? lol

i noticed the specs on the site said alivio front and rear gear mechs but mine came wi deore rear and acera front.

    quite happy wi it anyhow.
