Hi!

Just got a question about my front forks - they've got ATA and TST2 (??) - I've read the manual, and basically understand what this adjustment does, however - they seem to bottom out very easily. For instance, just pushing down on the bars before bunny hopping, makes them bottom out. I can lock the forks out, but obviously, this isn't ideal whilst on trails etc. Surely they shouldn't be bottoming out like this?

    you mean 700 sl?'

have you set the air pressures?

or 600? add air to set the sag.

ok it is an OE. 600sl. give me a moment.

right you have 3 air valves. have you set them all correctly?

  • They came with my I-drive 5 2.0 - i'm sure they're the 600 SL's. They have an adjuster on each fork - one which alters to the terrain, and has CL + DS on it. The LH fork has one that adjusts travel I think.
  • 600 SL - yep that's right. Three valves  nope, I've not touched them. My last forks were pretty simple, so haven't got any experience with this kind of set up. Will the valves be on the bottom of the forks - maybe I should go to my LBS to get a run down of how to set the bits up, so I'm not asking stupid questions. What tool would I need to adjust air pressure, I'm guessing not a standard pump/compressor?

you will need a fork pump with a guage that will allow you to read the pressues that you need to be setting the fork at.

the TST needs to be set at 30psi
and the ATA any where from 100 to 175 psi depending on your weight.

    pages 75 - 77 of the manual.

  • Excellent - I've just gone on the site, and am trawling through the manual now - it's not so hard I guess! Best get over to CRC to get a fork pump - cheers again Nick.
