I missed the What Mountain Bike review of Short Travel XC forks in the April 07 issue. Could anyone let me know what the overall results were, as I am building a HT light weight with forks of around 80mm and would like to get the best., or I would even be prepared to buy the back issue from anyone.

    winner - rockshox reba.

personally i have used the rebas and a similar fox model (rl80). the rebas took a few rides to loosen up but having covered 2000 miles are still going strong and have never let me down (their the reba team with u turn 85 -115mm so are suitable for pretty much any trail you point them at). the fox's were and still are super plush straight out of the box and are dead easy to set up with just one air chamber and rebound to set. these have done around 2200 miles and again have never let me down. the rebas are a bit lighter and a hell of a lot cheaper. so between the two it would be rebas for me. hope this helps gaz

SID or Rebas are the way to go.

Great fork, Awesome price...IMO. I just got the 100mm model and they're living up to expectations, and more. I wouldn't bother paying the extra for the Reba race. The only difference is the internal/external floodgate adjustment. Not worth the extra $$$ really. CRC offer a 2 year warranty on their OE forks.

  • I've had no problems with my Fox RLCs. Plush & stiff but if I was buying I wouldn't be able to ignore how much cheaper Reba forks are! 8)
