Just riding along with my mate the other week who is relitivly new to MTB ing.
He was having problems with his gears slipping and I suggested that he take his bike in for a service and get them to replace the gear cables.
The conversation went on......
If Hydraulic brakes are better than cable brakes then why don't they make Hydraulic gear shifters?
This totally stumped me..........I've never thought of that?!?! :?
Any ideas chaps?

they do but they are very expensive.
and the reasons of each are very different.
there is no need for power. but presision.
rot5 is the make. iirc."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

I think they do, but its mega bucks!! Im sure I read about it in MBUK once, someone asked where they could get one, and they said they cost over a grand and its not worth it at all0

My take on this is its to do with transfer of power, and modulation, which hydraulics in brakes allows more of, to put it bluntly. Not so sure this is specifically needed with gears: but I am sure we will see them anyway.0
