Man made, natural or bit of both....?

We all have a favourite kind of trail but what do we like best?

Man made (North Shore etc)?

Natural singletrack perhaps?

Or a nice mix of the two?

Thanks

A nice mix off the two because natural give you the feeling of no one has ridden her in a long time while man made can be smooth and flowing

I just done a ride today in the North York Moors, which was 100% natural....and I can say it was absolutely class. Thouroughly enjoyed riding it!!

I really enjoy both - depends on my mood which is "best" at the time. Natural is great cause its that much more unpredictable - sometimes you come across stuff that is seriously hairy.
However bombing through a well built trail and getting that flow going can be just fantastic and, even if you've not ridden it before you know you're not going to come across anything completely crazy (well, true for the trails I've ridden so far anyway)
For my money one of the best one day rides in the country is the Selkirk Merida Marathon - it has the best mixture of natural and man made stuff I've come across.
  • manmade only when winter sets in and we wish to protect the best trails for spring and summer

Natural for me. That's the whole point.

Though to be fair the only man-made stuff I've ridden is Aston Hill. Which wasn't really to my taste.
  • hardtail for man made and full sus for natural
internet (in ter net), secret sanctuary of idiots and nutters.
  • Well I'm into big berms, jumps etc so i prefer man-made but natural has a great feel to it if you can find some of it.
