Bent skewer!

Well, that's not quite true - my commute bike is an old Raleigh Record and on the rear wheel there's a big fat bolt that acts as an axle (I'm used to mtb'ing where there is a hole through the hub and a skewer). Not only is this bolt bent, there is a bit of give when I move the hub itself.

My question is, how can I fix it without spending too much money?! Can I just buy a bolt and try and fit it?

It used to be possible to buy replacement wheel axles, cones and bearings from your LBS.
These days you buy a new wheel.
