Wide shoes?

I normally take a size 9 shoe, but my feet are size 8 in length.
When it comes to getting sports shoes I have to get a size 10 just to be wide enough. I've got 3 pairs of rugby boots that are size 10 and two pairs of them are too narrow, suprisingly I picked up a pair of size 8 canterbury boots for £5 which fit me perfectly.
Can anyone recommend any really wide cycling shoes that might fit me in 8 or 9? I'm getting fed up with all the space in the toes.

Try specialised shoes which have a reputation for width. Northwave Aereator are wide (but beware the next model down is narrow!). I bought the Northwave, but while my toes now have space I have found the flat insole poor and added another one on top to get some arch support.
Sidi do a 'mega' range which has a wider fitting than normal - I've never actually tried them on though.0 -

Unfortunately I'm not good enough at cycling to justify spending that sort of money on road shoes, I'm good(ish) at rugby and then I could only justify £60 max (but as it was, £5 was enough for a bloody good pair of boots - what a find!)
I was looking at spending less than £100.0 -
I would go for Specialized or Shimano shoes. I would buy a size up on what you wear for normal footwear. Specialized are launching a new range so you might get a good deal on shoes over £100 for under £100. Some Shimano's come in special 'wide' sizes.0

Some shoes are wider than others by design, Sidi are narrow, Vittora are wide, infact they even market some models as just that.
If it is the toe area that you have the most problems then some Atb shoes may be worth considering as they have a protective toe box, which also has the effect that they are inclined to be wider there
