Are you tough enough?
The British Heart Foundation is challenging teams to complete a 6 stage challenge in Afan Forest Country Park, South Wales. The challenge will test your team spirit, energy levels, endurance, mental agility and mountain biking skills whilst raising money to fight heart disease in the UK.
The stages• Stage 1: 5km run around Gnoll Country Park
• Stage 2 19km mountain biking stage
• Stage 3 Team agility test at Afan Forest Country Park
• Stage 4 5km run including river crossings
• Stage 5 19km mountain biking stage
• Stage 6 Team challenge to include lake crossing!
Your map reading, orienteering and compass skills will also be used on the day.
Each stage will be timed and converted into points. Bonus points will be available for the mini tasks given on the day. Bonus points are also given for the amount of sponsorship achieved by the day of the event.
Do it together
This event is all about team spirit and fundraising achievements. Awards are given to the highest fundraising team, the best team spirit, and fastest team.
Your team can have just 2 members, with both of you completing all stages, or up to 6 members with a minimum of 4 members completing each stage.
The registration fee to take part is £50 per person. Teams of 2 members are asked to raise a minimum of £500 in sponsorship with larger teams raising a minimum of £1000 per team.

The British Heart Foundation is the nation’s heart charity dedicated to saving lives through pioneering research, patient care, campaigning for change and by providing vital information. We urgently need donations of time and money to continue our life-saving work. Because together we can beat heart disease.

Looks fun but the £1000 minimum sponsorship is a bit much IMO. I can see why they set targets to stop it filling up with people just looking for a challenge but £1000 is crazy given all the other sponsored MTB stuff out there (did one two weeks ago with some friends and we raised £700 but we'd essentially have to ask the same people to donate again pfft). £200 entry for a team of 4 isn't cheap either, if that covers their admin costs though they should halve the sponsorship requirements...0

In reply to your comment about the high registration fees: these are deductible from the minimum sponsorship ask, so a team of four paying £200 to enter would need to raise £800 in sponsorship for their participation. This was not mentioned in the summary below.0
