I've a Trek1400 with Bontrager Race Lite Hard Case 700x23 tyres which need replacing-they have been fine regarding punctures but reading reviews there are so many others to choose from-Schwalbe Ultremo gets good reviews but seem expensive-I don't race -just ride as fast as I can on the road!!
Any advice greatly appreciated

  • I use Michelin Pro-Race2 Service Course (700x23). I love them. Light and have great rolling resistance and so far this summer I have not had recourse to get the spare inner tube out (I am not using the 'p' word as I don't want to tempt fate!).

I find they really enhance the quality of the ride and feel pretty zippy. I have used Pro-Race and pro-race2 for years and felt no need to try anything else. I used to race on these tyres as well.

Be interesting to hear what other riders use as I can only comment on the Pro-Race tyres.

I use Vredestein Fortezza Tricomps and I prefer them to the Pro Race I had previously. They are good vfm, I think Ribble have got them for under fifteen quid.

Tyres can be a very personal thing though, it can be down to what suits your riding style.
