Continental Sportives - where to find info?
Was thinking of trying to enter the etape but from what I have seen on here before it will come in as a costly thing to do, only as a package and with training camps etc in the price. My workplace has offered to contribute to the entry etc but I still want to do what I can to keep it in a reasonable budget as I will also want to raise cash for charity so I do not want it to appear I am on a jolly!
Any suggestions for a continental sportive which you can enter and then sort out your own accomodation etc?
Hopefully a well known grand tour route or something would be good.
Links to the associated web site would be even better!
Thanks.

La Marmotte is a great option. Does everything you ask.

Look up L'ardechoise. Bigger than the etape, choice of routes, possibly better? I know Diabetes UK were a charity who had riders in it a couple of years ago.
Other than that sportives are really common in france, most of the french bike mags carry details so there may be info on line.0 -
Cyclosport.org has many sportives listed.
