Fork crown clearance (lack of)

Hi,

My Ridley has a 4ZA carbon fork. The clearance between the fork crown and a 23C tyre is minimal (and a 25C doesn't fit). This is a problem in wet conditions as mud, grit, leaves etc very easily gets stuck in the crown and fouls the tyre. This is annoying and perhaps potentially dangerous...

My old bike had a 1" Look fork and I never had this problem - the 4ZA crown just looks deeper than other forks I've had. Can anyone recommend a replacement fork (1 1/8th, integrated), ideally one which would take a 25C tyre?

Thanks all.

I've got the same fork with the same problem. I'm about to take it back to the dealer to see if he'll change it.

Yes, I had a Profile fork like this. Was fine with tubular wheels but the slight increase of a clincher meant it was really tight full stop. Even different clinchers by the same manufacter were different e.g. a Carbon Cosmic was ok but a Ksyrium SL wasn't (both with the same tyre).
You can try different tyres as they have slightly different profiles.
