How many miles could a set of Dura ace components actually go before being worn out.

    Depends upon how well you look after them.

    Chain and sprockets are first to go, then chainwheels. Brake pads are consumables.

    I'm still running Dura Ace 7400 and it's 16 years old on my custom built bike - still works as new, but has of course had new chain rings, had a number of chain replacements and sprocket sets.

    All depends upon conditions you are using it in - wet weather of course wears components quicker, but keeping it clean and well lubed helps reduce the wear.
