Cassette Plastic?

What is that round piece of plastic on the spokes behind the cassette called and what is it for?

  • get rid of it. No point in having it if u have set up ur gears properly!
  • Unless you have MAVIC CROSSMAX wheels. Then it's required to protect the MAXTAL aluminium spokes from damage, and voids your warranty if you remove it.
    It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.

    yeh, if you can set up your gears well, then you dont need it. i think it looks really tacky, though, the mavics do need them.
