Alot of my friends do mountain biking, so I have decided to start, after a lot of discussion I have decided on a full suspension, I am thinking of the model below scott reflex fx 35, I have seen this for £669-00, any thoughts on it would be much appreciated

I am 6ft 4 and thinking of getting the xl frame would this be ok for me, I went into a local shop and they had the L frame size and he had to put it right to the top of the seat post for me but it was the only size he had left and he said thats ok for you but I was a bit doubt full thought he was just saying this as he didn't have the xl, any thoughts on this would be really appreciated.

Its ok, forks and brakes not the best at this price. You have done the right hing by testing it out - if the L feels wrong, don't buy it.0

what would you recommend for the 650 mark0

Not too many full suss bikes to be honest, it makes more sense to buy a hardtail. Some good ones in the sales worth looking for like GT Idrives, Trek Fuels and Giant Trances. Buying from a good local shop is essential if yoy are a beginner rather than online.0

Check out the sales of 2006/07 models as if you can get your hands on a good frame and forks then the rest of the bike can be upgraded when you have the time/money.There are some good cheap bikes out there it's just tracking them down.Ride with a smile.0

Yes best to go for last years model as all '08 out now, Just bought a Specilized Hardrock Sport with Hydraulic brakes from Dales Cycles, but they have a Specialized Rockhopper for £649, very good bike, could'nt quite afford it myself. Free delivery aswell, only took 3 days to get it. Think you need a 21" frame by the way.
