I recently bought some Deore hydraulic brakes from Chain Reaction cycles. Great service. Unfortunately the ones I am replacing are dual lever. I scratched one calliper already by trying to change the pads so cannot be sent back. Besides they were good value.
I need some 8 speed shifters and have seen some good deals on Alivio shifters
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... :IT&ih=017
I just need to know if these would be compatabile with my brake levers and my Shimano derailleurs???
Only having had dual shifters I'm not sure where to put them . Are the gear shifters attached after the brake levers (i'm sure it would be common sense when I get round to it!!!)
Many thanks
Ed

and what is the problem? just fit them.
you mention dual, what do you mean the gears are combined with your current set up?
buy the alivio shifter you linked to."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

I dont think you understand...
I did have dual. and now I am changing to a separate unit for the brake and a separate one for gears instead of both combined.
'Just fit them' doesnt quite work as I amasking whether The Alivio ones are compatible with my Deores i.e. will they sit together on the handlebars and the levers from each not get into each others way.
God I missing Cycling Plus!!!!!!!0 -
yes.
ps your current are combined.
Shimano dual is something totally different."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
