Hi, this is my first post but here it goes, I heard somewhere that the giant stp 2 2007 has quick realese wheels and that most decent forks dont support this feature, meaning, that upgradeding the forks on the stp would also require the wheel to be changed? If this true is it still the same in the '08 model if anyone's got there hands on it yet? Finally, is there any other hickups or downers to this bike for a jumper starting out looking for a starting block to gradually to upgrade. Oh, an one more thing I read in the review of the frame ages agon in MBUK, that it was easily spec out to XC/Freeride is this easyier said then done and requires different components or what?
Cheers, an thanks very much for your time, oh an if this is the wrong forum just say an il move it.

Some forks are QR, some use a 20mm through axle. The latter are usually used on longer travel forks, or where extra stiffness is required and needs a compatible hub. Decent forks can be had in either set up.0

oh, ok thanks so when buying a new fork I need to look for one which features quick realese? Also, does the stp feature disc mounts?

i got giant stp2!! awesome bike... had to buy new hubs and spokes to get disc brakes but there are IS mounts on the frame and forks... forks are rubbish so you'll probs want to get new ones. it is perfect bike for beginning dirt jumping and street. if you have enough money i'd get the stp zero, but this years stp 1 has rigid forks so not great for begginners.Hardtails aren't called hardcore for no reason

A rigid is probably better than a cheap sus unit for beginners on a jump bike.0
