Hi
I am fed up with bike paces on trains and just the general hassel of moving the bikes on and off trains.

Could anyone sugest a folding bike capable of touring for under £400 (ideally round £300!) as a student i cn afford much more!

THanks

I have a Dahon Cadenza which cost me about £350 in January this year. This is a 26" wheeled hybrid bike with 16 gears. It folds in half to fit in my car but it is not a small wheeled folder like you generally see people on trains with. However Dahon do make a bag for it so I see no reason why it should be carried on a train. The benefit of this bike is that it looks like a real bike when unfolded.

There are plenty of room for mudguards and the frame is drilled to accept a rear rack so you could tour on this bike. The tyres as supplied are 1.3" slick tyres and roll well on the road. This bike now lives in the back of my car so I can ride at lunchtimes wherever I am working.

I believe that this years Cadenza has a new frame design and is more expensive but when I was looking there were similar bikes on ebay from a German company, www.rabbit.de that were around your price range.
