Me and the wife's got a couple of those Smart LED rear lights (the really bright ones) but could do with something similar as a back up for the rechargeable on the front . Any recommendations ?

I got an Electron 1 Watt LED as a backup - good price from All Terrain Cycles - bargain at £19.99, runs on 4xAAA, very bright, lasts 40 hours or more, aluminium, small, neat. When not used as backup I run it in flashing mode alongside my Dinotte.

  • I have one of
    these
as a back up to my main rechargeable light, not clamps to worry about just strap to the bars and you're off!.

Nice, but more expensive and about 1/3rd of the power of the electron.

Fair enough I was just responding to the OPs request for recommendations, it's the one I use and I've found it works fine as a backup, so I thought I'd post it. OK yours is cheaper and better....you win!.

  • Thanks for the suggestions . I've ordered one of these :

didn't want to spend much as it'll only be for emergencies .

  • Wish I'd bought something else . The lights OK but takes a funny size battery. The bracket doesn't tighten up enough (and I broke it) . For £7 it's not worth the hassle sending back so I bodged a bracket and fixed it on . Wouldn't recommend .

If you are looking again Lucky Luke, you might consider this. They've actually got it wrong on their web site it takes 3 of the smaller AAA batteries. The reason I bought it I was looking for something small and lightweight that I could fit in an emergency to the flat aero bars on my Bianchi.

    How about one of these

    or these

I use one of the latter and it's very good. Very well made, light and super bright.
