Query about points competitions...

I noticed when looking at the TdF results in Procycling that Iker Camano ended up with the grand total of -10 points - is this a typo?? How do riders incur negative points? This is the only time I can recall seeing this.

You can be docked points for various infringements of the rules. If you haven't scored many and then incur the wrath of the commissaires for certain irregularities, you'll end up negative.

I'm not sure but he may have been among the many riders that got penalized in the first days of the Tour in Britain. There were spectators along the whole length of the route and it is forbidden to relieve yourself in front of spectators. Either that or he got hanging onto the team car for too long or taking his sweet time to take the bottles from the DS' hand. The referees got tough on that this year, especially after Leipheimer's 70kph "seat adjustment".
