Hi everyone

I am looking to buy my first fixed wheel bike and have recently seen this Bianchi in Evans' sale - http://www.evanscycles.com/product.jsp?style=70448 . Does anyone have one and is it reasonable value for money given the componants?

Any help appreciated.

Thanks

Wil

  • Is that not a track bike?

A front brake would be handy

Please Note: This bike does not come equipped with brakes and is therefore unsuitable for road use
    Back to the drawing board?
  • Yeah, i saw that, but i reckon it'd be fairly easy to stick a front brake on there (provided it comes with the appropriate fixing).

Yeah - I think you can drill the front fork and fit a brake caliper - I have seen one which had been drilled.

thats a good price and it is one sweet looking bike in the flesh - have you actually seen it? if you see it for real you WILL want to buy it - very nice.

I bought a langster a few weeks ago for £349 - i'd have been tempted by that at the price if I'd have seen it.

I bought a Lemond Fillmore a couple of months ago, and i love it. I use it for my commute.

I think these are quite hard to get hold of though.

  • Hi,

You don't have to drill the forks...they come pre-drilled. The 2006 Pista came with a front caliper and lever but Bianchi discontinued this as they didn't want to get caught up in the whole 'road legal or not' situation. Bear in mind that this bike comes 'fixed' and not single-free but you can flop the hub and put your own single-free on.
BTW This is one of the few Bianchis not built in in Italy as it's made by Bianchi USA. Really nice bike for the money.
