My employer has just launched the bikes2work scheme with Evans Cycles and I have a bit of a dilema. I want to spend no more than £550 and am torn between getting a sensible hybrid or a more fun mountain bike.

I have it between the Spec Rockhopper - http://www.evanscycles.com/product.jsp?style=70267

the Spec Sirrus Comp 2007 (Hybrid) - http://www.evanscycles.com/product.jsp?style=70090

and the Spec Sirrus Elite 2007 (hybrid)

My journey to work involves mostly roads (with a bit of a canel path too) but i do go off roading at the week, I currently ride a GT Avalanche 1.0 (2007 model) so would getting ANOTHER mountain bike a bit overkill?

Also, i am about 5ft 10" - what size frame would you recommend? 19"?

Any advice?

  • Hi Skippa

Pesonally I'd go for the Rockhopper but if all your planning to do is go on roads (and canals) then the sirrus is a more "sensible option". If you are planning on doing any off road/cross country riding though the rockhoppers definetely a better choice.
What a headline "Iraqi head seaks arms" :-)
