Bike Dilema - Specialized Rockhopper v Specialized Sirrus

My employer has just launched the bikes2work scheme with Evans Cycles and I have a bit of a dilema. I want to spend no more than £550 and am torn between getting a sensible hybrid or a more fun mountain bike.
I have it between the Spec Rockhopper - http://www.evanscycles.com/product.jsp?style=70267
the Spec Sirrus Comp 2007 (Hybrid) - http://www.evanscycles.com/product.jsp?style=70090
and the Spec Sirrus Elite 2007 (hybrid)
http://www.evanscycles.com/product.jsp?style=70091
My journey to work involves mostly roads (with a bit of a canel path too) but i do go off roading at the week, I currently ride a GT Avalanche 1.0 (2007 model) so would getting ANOTHER mountain bike a bit overkill?
Also, i am about 5ft 10" - what size frame would you recommend? 19"?
Any advice?

Hi Skippa
Pesonally I'd go for the Rockhopper but if all your planning to do is go on roads (and canals) then the sirrus is a more "sensible option". If you are planning on doing any off road/cross country riding though the rockhoppers definetely a better choice. What a headline "Iraqi head seaks arms" :-)0
