Does your club have a newsletter and if so what is the best bit of it.
I have been volunteered to do our clubs ones so I want to have an idea of what people would read or not be interested in.

I love to read about other member's trips, or the older members' memories.( yes ....older than me). of races and "secret" time trials.
Try to have a section for the junior members as well.
Its a thankless task you have taken on Jimmy, but hopefully the newsletter will evolve as your own members let you know what they enjoy, and what they don't.
Good Luck

I started off with an email newsletter and then went on to having a website, I found the website more flexible as you could update parts of it at anytime rather than having to work to get a newsletter out by a deadline.

I am planning on keeping it to two sides A4 to start and email it to most members with posting to the older non web enabled ones!!!
I have added a couple of photos and the forthcoming events as suggested... keep the advice coming!0 -
I would have said a combination of all of them, plus some articles from the club members themselves
3rd Committee Meeting Updates
1st Results
2nd Forthcoming events
4th Members Letters
5th For Sale/Wanted
Then members articles and pics

A bit about everyone, since most of us like reading about ourselves especially if new/racing etc etc. I actually like reading about results mainly, but thats not necassarily what I would put in.0

our club newsletter is a combination of all of those things, with some cartoons and other articles thrown in.
amazingly in this day of dtp etc the newsletter is photocopies of cut/paste artwork.
it has a charm of its own though, which is why i haven't volunteered my professional services!riding on my bicycle, i saw a motorcrash…0 -
