must of been asked before?

want to ride fixed all winter is it a starter to ride it in the sunday club run...say 10-15 riders?

  • if you've done the club run before and know the terrain and whether you can reasonably expect to keep up, the only real question is 'Why not'?

  • Pick a middling gear (52:19 or 39:15 (or 39:16)) and see if you can ride the whole ride in that one gear.

    You'll likely find fied gear even easier than that.

    It's not that hard to break your addiction to shifting, and it is an addiction, as I have seen fellows who downshift 5 or 6 sprockets to climb a 150 metre long hill of 3% grade for no other (readily appearant) reason than that they have the gears.
