How do i get the ping back in my wheels?

Bought some Mavic Askium wheels last year, on my first few rides whilst freewheeling the rear wheel pings from the freehub body, it doesn't do it anymore. Can it be restored? not for any other reason than it sounds good!!

    From your description it sounds like either the rim and spokes were bedding in, or, do you mean the rapid clicking noise that the pawls make inside the freehub. If that is the case then it maybe needs a clean and oiling but unless it is causing a problem then i wouldn't bother.

    Surely you prefer to hear the birds singing as you effortlessly glide down the descents though.

    Think he means the clickety clack from the pawls - wouldn't worry unless the bearings have gone rough - check the wheel running off the bike - might be over greased - not bad, otherwise terminal ! :D
