Does anyone know of a rear light that doesn't mount on the seatpost?

If I put it there it's obscured by stuff on my rear rack, but all the lights I can find for sale come with round mounts etc.

My rack is this one: http://www.bromleybike.co.uk/ishop/399/shopscr2718.html

So it has a flat panel across the back with a few different shaped and sized holes. I'd like to mount something there, but can't find any...

  • The Cateye TLD 1100 can be screwed onto the rack plate. The rear of the light case has a hole for that specific use.

And there's the Cateye rack mount as well.

Here’s two I have, both specifically designed for fitting to racks. Both good, the Basta is brighter but uses twice as many batteries.

On my fixed I have two Cateye AU-100s, one on each seatstay. Bonus is the BS reflector on each.
  • I used part of an old inner tube to wrap tightly round the rear of the carrier rack until it was the same thickness as the seat post, then used an ordinary seat post bracket - works fine. There seems to be a gap in the market for a universal lamp bracket.

Anyway, get yourself a Cateye rear light. Cateye produce different brackets, one of which fits onto marrow tubes. I have mine on the seatstay, just above the rear cogs.
You have a choice of three sizes:
