I am going to pick up my new road bike at the weekend and i want a computer to go with it just to keep track of avg speed, distance etc. Is it really worth paying almost twice the price for a wireless one ? Are they any better or is it just down to looks as there is no cable running down the fork.

Any recommendations would be appreciated too.

  • As far as I can tell the only advantage is that they are neater due to the lack of wiring.

I have found that wireless units seem prone to interference from powerlines etc.

If I were starting again I wouldn't bother with wireless.

I have cordless on my MTB and wired on the road bike.

    Both Cateye.

I had cordless on the MTB incase the wire catches in on any scenery, with a road bike that would not be a problem.

    Go for wired
