Hope Pro3 Road hubs
Hi all,
This is a question to anyone who has the above hubs. The freewheel is one nosiy Ba****d! (One of the loudest i've ever heard!)I know people's reply will be to live with it but i'm wondering if there is anyway of making the freewheel quieter, maybe oiling or greasing the pawls (whether it's easily done I don't know). They are brand new by the way.
Thanks

Mine are the same, I bought them to timetrial with but they were so noisy that they got relegated to training wheel. I wonder if the noise and the fact that you can feel thefreewheel braking when you spin them actually slows you down if you were to ever freewheel?0

Indeed - my TT wheels have old Hope Titanium hubs in, and they're pretty noisy, but I really can't say it bothers me when I'm racing!0

Firstly what are you doing freewheeling??
Secondly Hope hubs sound way cool!
Thirdly grease in the ratchet works for quietening them down.
Fourthly, if the bearings develop play, just hammer the cartridges out and stick new ones in. (they last about 4 years on my MTB's, so its not really an issue)0
