I know it's been done to death but....

I'm at a loss and thought that it may benefit others in beginners.

I'm looking for a 3rd bike. I have a Felt F4 converted for TT's, a Monoc TC2 for training and a Dawes flatbar for commuting/general riding.

The Dawes is the problem. it's only 6 months old but I am finding it to be the most un comfortable bike I've ever ridden and avoid using it. I know it's a cheap bike at £200 but i didn't expect it to be quite this un-comfortable.

I want a bike for general city riding, with drops, is comfortable not too hard and have about £400 this time. not buying on-line.

fixed is an option.

What's wrong with the Dawes, can't a different saddle or a shorter or longer stem make it make comfortable?

What about a Specialized Langster? £360 from Evans. I have one and it's great fun to ride.
