Can anyone recommend a value for money carbon frame. Dont mind paying for it but dont want inferior quality for the sake of having carbon. Would titanium be a better option?

The Look 585 is a lovely frame but a bit over the top for most people. What about a Look 461, half the price at

Before you make a choice made on material alone, consider what you are going to be using the bike for, fit & position and how long you plan to keep it. The £1500 price point is highly competitive giving you a wide choice of frames and materials. Also look at close-out deals on 2007 bikes if looking for value-for-money.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0

yes, sound advice, work out what you want it for first
Both carbon and Ti can be well built and poorly built, and obviously there can b eno answer on which is better without considering your needs.
Assuming they are both of a good quality, then Ti has a lower stiffness to weight ratio than carbon but is probably more durable. If well made, then both will give a comfortable ride, though it seems there are more harsh carbon frames out there than Ti.
A fair bit of it comes down to what floats your boat aesthetically, how bothered you are by the 400g or so weight penalty that comes with a Ti frame (for comparable stiffness), and how worried you are about the scare /real stories of carbon's fragiliity.
The poster above is right that if you do have £1500 to play with then the world is your carbon/Ti oyster (we seem to have chosen that amount for you!!)0
