Somewhere in the archive of Cyclingplus, is me moaning on that I can't find a thing to wear, (he says casually looking at something on his heel ).
Anyway after a full summer in the saddle the situation still stands.
I've been roaming around the downs in my Marmite top or a Nike heritage top, which doesnt fit too well, so only gets worn on lesser rides.
I really want to look better on a bike but I have no team or rider affliation, and anyway I find something a little disturbing about the people that look like Trek threw them up. So I couldn't bring myself to do that on my Bianchi.
I've been interested in some Slipstream articles but, man alive, have you seen their shirts.
So come on guys point me in a direction other than Prendas, which is where I probably will shop, if you can't help me out.

Well...if you've got no affiliation/admiration for any particular team then some random jersey off Prendas is always good I think. I wear the world TT masters chamption jersey cus I like the colours! Other than that there's loads of selection on Wiggle and probikekit., Surely there's something for you there!?
I know what you mean about the Nike Heritage shirts. Mine was so loose around the waist. I concluded it had been made for plump americans so sent it back.0 -
G/F got me one of the Primal Iron Maiden ones for my birthday recently...I get a few questioning looks from metalheads around out way wearing that one! I'm taken by the Foska Heinz 57one though....pffffft - wind power!0

Twin Six

do a few good looking shirts IMO, shame only a few can be bought online though. Edit hmm looks like you can buy them all direct now.0 -
Bit late now maybe but if you go abroad for your hols then maybe look for a local bike shop and get a jersey there. That's what I do and there's always a selection of ones you'll never see in the UK.
However I had to decline one from the LBS in Alassio as it was advertsing the shop itself. Couldn't quite see my self in a Prato top ;-)0 -
I've just recieved wool jersey from portlandcyclewear.com it's very nice.0

At the risk of being flamed and making no comment on price/VFM.........rapha do some very nice plain jerseys.

I'm liking some of the twinsix stuff, fluff. Shame you're across the pond.0

Get on the primal web site.I've also got the Iron Maiden (don't walk, ride) with the union jack short sleeves. It certainly gets noticed, but they do have a VERY wide range of choice,to suit all tastesso many cols,so little time!0

Um, that's an A-Team reference in the location bit

Due to my size, ahem  I have trouble finding jerseys that fit, however I have found a nice black and gold XXL continental jersey thats just the job at only £25, so if you ride continentals give it a look.

I've bought a fair few retro tops on ebay through both cyclingtopsuk and convicts of the road. Both are reliable, and the shirts are fairly decent. I've paid between 5 and 12 pounds for each of them. It's worth checking out their auctions.0

Assos is always a cool option if you can afford it. Probably VFM as it last for years.I have pain!0

Jerseys last for years anyway, unless you a) fall off b) have a few too many pies. I've still got jerseys I've had 10 years or more. Twinsix prices with shipping from the states aren't too bad, if you want any of the others not at that UK site that is.0

Lycra is so last year. Merino is the new black: http://www.ibexwear.com/F07/Products_Landing.php?LPID=1

Luckily I have a thread, on beginners, proving I'm ill, and the 1st thing to go is my ability to think. Lets face it, there isn't much there to loss in the 1st place.0 -

Very true :oops:I have pain!0 -
Eurostar, have you tried the Ibex stuff? I've looked at it before but they charge you $52 P&P regardless of the size of your order. I'd have to order a load of stuff to make it worthwhile! I fancied the wool shorts.0
-
$52???? Are you sure? I got a jersey for Christmas and it didn't cost anything like that much to ship. Give them a call. I think I will. They're great jjerseys - I think they'd have a big market here if they could get their heads out of their US-centric asses. I have the Fausto in blue and it's lovely. I think the merino is finer than you'll get in any other cycling jersey, plus it's virtually pure, with just a little lycra. Other merino jerseys have a lot of polyester or cotton.

$36 for two pairs of shorts here. Surface Fedex.0

That's not always a bad thing. Especially in shorts.0 -
Do they allow surface Fedex for orders to the UK? The shipping policies page says you have to use Fedex priority only.

Seems you can choose Fedex ground. Anyone any idea how long this normally takes?
Yeh, I think I'd get a Fausto jersey (in blue too). I have a swobo merino cycling jersey which I like and is 100% merino ( I think) but it's quite thick and I usually end up too warm.0 -
 If your riding a Bianchi Postie, Parker Int. do a nice shiney Italian national by Giordana. About £35. You could go out only speaking in Italian!I say what I like and I like what I say!0

I didn't kow that twin six stuff was available in the UK so i bought the Fatcyclist Pink jersy online from the US website. 1 jersey + cool T-shirt + Postage ($9) came to $88 (even at barclaycard exchange rates that only came in at £45), and took 10 days - happy with bothFacts are stubborn things, but statistics are more pliable0

why not join a club and wear that one. IMO far more satisfying.0

As Groucho says:-
I wouldn't join a club that would have me as a member.0 -
