front mech compatibility

Hi

Is it possible to use a 10 speed front mech with a 9 speed chain/chainset?

    Yes, I don't see why not. I've used an old Shimano 600 front mech (originally 8 speed) with a 10 speed set up and had no problems, so I guess it would work the other way too. If there were to be any incompatability I guess it might be if you used a compact chainset. I found the adjustment of the front mech trickier with a compact compared to a regular chainset.

    Yes . I use this same set up . No problem at all .
