None Shimano calipers on shimano discs ?

Hi I have a Trek 4300 with the non series Shimano mechanical disc system. Is it possible to upgrade to hydraulic calipers and use the exhisting Shimano disc. The discs are 160mmdia.

    as long as the calipers are for 160mm discs there generally does not be any problems.
