titanium time trial frames ?
Having ridden carbon for the last three seasons i may well build a new set up for next year , i get the feeling that my style of riding and the power transistion required may well mean that a titanium frame could be the starting point for the build , has anyone tried this and what are your experiences ? :?: :?: :?:

Hi,
We at Sunday have got an awesome tt frame in ti (3al mainly with a 6al top tube) for 2008. We've just done the messing with the prototypes and we're really excited. It's got loads of cunning featues - ti aero integrated seatpost, adjustable effective seat tube angle, not to mention awesome curves. We're doing a production run at the moment and expect to have them in the UK mid October.

So are you too powerful for your current frame tarmac2? If so, I'm not sure riding a Ti TT bike will solve that problem. You will welcome the added comfort a Ti TT frame will bring but if you want ultimate stiffness then carbon frames have the edge. Which carbon frame are you riding now?0

Too powerful for my existing frame ? I wish !!! I am presently riding an ISAAC JOULE of which i have seen quite a lot of recently and talking to other owners they have been full of praise but certain articles have lead me to think that carbon may not allways be the most suitable matierial for all riders - hence my extreme interest in the reply posted by Greg Roche .......0

The Joule is a very stiff frame compared to many, and also quite harsh. I imagine most carbon frames would be more comfortable than the Joule tbh as it is well known for being very stiff.
Setavento make custom made TT frames very well. Engma are about to bring out a TT model. They might add weight but will also add comfort.
However, try and borrow a ride or two on other carbon frames and you will see that they too can offer a more comfortable ride than the Joule.
FYI I rode a Omega Stealth Ti frame last year and a Scott Plasma this year. I also have Ti road bike and a full carbon road bike.0 -
Thanks for your feed back , RJ , one thing about bikes compared to cars and that is the test drive/ride is allways going to be easier for 4 wheels than 2 but i will try to get on some different frames , both carbon and titanium .0
