Hi to all, after an intensive 5 year period of pies, beer & partying I decided to get fit again, going from swimming 5 miles a week & biking anywhere between 20 to 50 miles on a weekend to zero activty has taken its toll  so I recently bought a bike :D 2nd hand with M4's F & R, they both seem to have seized .I can prize 1 of the piston back ,away from the rotor, the other doesnt move much, but as soon as I pull on the lever they return to the stuck position & stay there until prized away.Is there any way to 'Un-sieze' with out the aid of expensive bike mechanics? Thanks :D

hope you didnt pay too much for the bike...

i would say no, unless you know how to change all the seals, etc, basically stripping down the entire caliper.

Seals may be dry and gunked up. remove pads and gently expose them Clean with water, and then lube with brake fluid. Push back into bores.

The bike price seemed reasonable but repairs & replacements are starting to add up! I download the info on the brakes, diagrams etc from Hope and will strip them down. :!: Hopefully things will work out. Thanks for the reply. :D
